Community Reporter Meet Up - Tuesday (monthly), Innovation Forum, 12.30pm - 2.30pm

Have you been on a Community Reporter training course? Perhaps you are interested in finding out more about it. Every other Tuesday from 12.30-2.30, we invite people in to imporve their Community Reporting skills, develop some new ones and set up their own creative projects. 


Older Person's Network - 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 10am - 12pm at Salford Sports Village

Are you aged over 65 and keen to work with others to help make your community a better place for older people? Join our friendly network of older people who meet once a fortnight to create and get involved with projects aimed at making East Salford more age friendly.


Kickstart Plus - Thursday7th September at St Sebastian's, 10am - 3pm

In partnership with Keepmoat Homes and Salford City Council, we are running a course to help people into employment. How to do well in job interviews, your rights as an employee and gain some experience in a work environment. To book onto the course please email julie.baker@keepmoat.com

Do you need help with your benefits? Perhaps you are not sure about a letter you have received and need some advice? Every Friday between 10am and 1pm our development worker Tina is there to help. To book an appointment with her please contact Tina on 07824 833 063


Adult Education (Level 3) - Starting in September, at St Sebastian's

Are you interested in getting into a career in education? Perhaps you have a skill that you would like to teach others? COme along and sign up to this course to gain your Level 3 qualification in Adult Education. To book a place for this September please contact Matt Bell on 0161 743 3625.


Learning English from Scratch - Mondays 10-12pm, Salford Sports Village, starting in September

On Monday mornings 10am-12pm at Salford Sports Village, we are partnering up with Europia to help offer English speaking courses to people who are living in our community and do not have English as a first language. Our Development Worker Natalie feels that our involvement with this project is vital; "It's important to help and support those people who do not have English as a first language. We are really interested in working with the groups and help them get involved with community projects.

Community Events

Goblin Hunt at Riverbank Park - Tuesday 22nd August 1pm - 2.30pm 

Hunt round the woods for hidden goblins with Professor Jigget. A family event held at Riverbank Park. Free but places need to be booked. Please contact Natalie on 0161 743 3625 to confirm a place.


Keep an eye out for listings of more Summer activities for children and families in Charlestown and Lower Kersal. Activities will take place throughout August.


Lunch and Learn (for the over 55's)

On Wednesday 2nd August at St Sebastian's Community Centre (10.30am-2.30pm) we are running a Lunch and Learn session entitled Laughter and Lunch. The course offers a laughter workshop and the opportunity to learn more about Care Plans, making a Will and Funeral Planning. Lower Kersal Family Fun Day - Saturday 16th September 12pm - 2pm in Riverbank Park

Come along to Riverbank Park and enjoy arts and crafts, live music, food and maybe even a bouncy castle! No need to book, just come along!



We run residents forums in both Charlestown and Lower Kersal. The forums are the opportunity for members of the community to come together and discuss what is going on in their area and develop ideas for the future. 


The Charlestown Forum meets at St Sebastian's Community Centre at 3pm.
