Strengthening local voice

We will work to -

  • Facilitate two community forums which enable local residents of Charlestown and Lower Kersal to come together to identify key priorities within their neighbourhood and support engagement of seldom heard residents.
  • Provide a platform for local residents of Charlestown and Lower Kersal to share stories of challenges and achievements through our e-newsletter, printed news sheet and website.

As well as training as Community Reporters, we have been working with Salford City Council and their "Go On Salford" project to create Digital Champions to celebrate the improvement of computer skills of people in the community.

We have been working closely with Albion Academy to create "Black and Yellow Radio", the schools first radio station. Programmes are created by student community reporters and reflect what life is like at Albion Academy.
